Have a 1991 Lincoln Mark VII; check engine light goes on; radiator keeps going dry; no apparent leaking to outside but floor behind driver's seat is soaking wet all the time.

You may have answered your own questions. I had an 85 T-Bird that leaked hot coolant on my feet every once in a while. The heater core had sprouted a leak and hot coolant ran down to the driver foot vents. Not sure where your vent system might lead to.
