00k0k_eXGI9vG4P6p_600x450.jpgI just bought this custom car, its a 1949 shoebox ford sedan body on a 1993 lincoln mark VIII. The previous owners said that it had sputtered out while driving and wouldn't run after that. They installed a new fuel pump and it still wouldn't run. They listed it on craigslist where I saw it and became interested. I went out to see it and they got it to run, and it ran really good too! no missing, a little pinging in the motor when opened up but ran strong! So I bought it and checked the oil, coolant, everything looked real good. I put about $10 or 87 oct in it and started home. It had about 1/4 tank so now its @ 1/2 tank. I made it about 2 miles on the freeway at 70-75 mph and it stopped accelerating, wouldn't recover at all. I tried re starting and it would try to idle but sputter out and die. I checked engine codes and got 63, 65 (twice), 54, 35, and 24. in that order, checked 4 times to make sure its right. I have pressure at the rail (checked the valve) but i haven't checked with a gauge. I was going to try changing the fuel filter but it looks relatively new but I'm going to change anyhow. I also tried a new battery but that didn't help anything. Previous owner said might be the alternator. Car was running great when I bought it! Any ideas on where to start? I was also going to check out the egr, the car was in a very high dust area. Thanks
