1995 Mark VIII - Won't Start

Looking for a cheap Mark for sale for a friend of mine. I saw this one on craigslist, http://kansascity.craigslist.org/car/524577537.html

I was thinking it might be the crank position sensor, but I wasn't sure about the "grumble" he described. Just thought I would get your feedback before I went to go look at this car.

Assuming it is in decent shape, I'd think about offering $800 or so. Sound reasonable?

I helped start one that had been sitting abandoned for a long time. The lot owner thought his mechanic said it had engine problems and suspension issues. My brother-in-law and I were going to buy it to fix it up or turn it for a profit. Turned out all it needed was a jump box and 4 gallons of gas. Suspension pumped up fine. Unfortunately, once running, the owner changed his mind.

My advice, buy it not running for junk price. If you get it running you're ahead. If not you can likely part it out. Worse case, sell it for scrap.
 
$800 is too much. Low ball the guy like crazy and make sure you have the title signed over before you start working on the car. Worst case you can part it out and make $800 easily.
 
well i went to go look at it but it had been deleted, ether way tho if you do pick it up and you cant fix it let me know if your going to part it out. but if you can fix it thats great!
