Could someone tell me what years of Thrunderbird, or other models, shocks will work on the Mark VIII without modifications? Thanks in advance for your comments. By the way, the car has been converted to non air bag suspension.

you will have to re-use yout stock mounts from the shocks you take off the car, and cut out whats left of the bushings in them, and then use the new bushings that will come with the new shocks, i use monroe sensatracs for a t-bird, i like the way they ride. and they are cheap.

Shock Replacement

I have been hearing a rattle in the rear of the car for sometime. I have been told the noise is coming from the rear shock mounts. The car has been converted to dry suspension and still had the original rear shocks on the 1995 MKVIII with 100K miles. I purchased two new T-Bird rear shocks and proceeded to remove the old shocks. To my surprise the rear mounts were in good shape and the original shocks did not appear to be bad. I decided to install the new shocks using the original mounts. The rattle noise has gone away but I'm not sure why. The only thing I can think of is there is an internal problem in the old shocks causing the rattle. Anyone else have this happen?
