For Sale :98 Base Model Mark 8 -Solid Florida car I bought in 2010 from original owner, who was an elderly lady residing in Orlando area. She had nearly all upkeep/repair work done by her local Lincoln dealer, and she saved the receipts over the years, which I now have, and they will be included with the vehicle.
I've put about 17,000 (mostly) highway miles on the car, but the only winter time driving I used it for was in Florida. I've been busy working as a long haul trucker the last couple years, so the car has been parked almost constantly during that time. I have more cars than I need, so I've decided to post this one for sale here.
If you're living in (or near) Michigan, and would like to have a totally rust free Gen 2 without having to pay for transportation costs from down south or out west, here's a great opportunity. You can own one of the best looking Mark 8s around, without spending any money on patchwork/paint etc.
About the car : Mileage 95,600 - exterior color Ivory Pearlescent code HA - interior color Ivory code ZQ. Body very nice - see pictures included below. A few minor flaws, so I can’t call it mint, but the body on this Mark is certainly better than most.
Mechanical Condition : A/C not working - I done the blendor once, it seems to be out again. only sure way to verify is go in there..Neon light has a short. It blew the fuse, so I disconnected it. Probably needs a ballast. All other tail lights working fine. Suspension : the first owner had new air struts installed in the front by the Lincoln dealer, OEM Ford parts were used. I done the rear bags myself, using parts I bought from American Air Suspension. I put front upper control arms in it, and had an excellent alignment done. Brakes - Nice firm pedal. working great. The car handles like new. Engine and transmission both seem to work great. Tires : new Michelins less than 2,000 miles ago. I will negotiate a lower price if you want to buy the car without the new tires. I would put some older tires and wheels on so you can drive it home.
I realize that the car would be somewhat more valuable if I were to address the various issues descibed above, but my spare time is limited, so - So I'm pricing this Mark 8 with the overall condition being taken into consideration. This car, at under 96K miles, has plenty of great miles still left in it.
Price is firm at $3000.00 including the Michelins, or $2500.00 with some older tires and wheels mounted. I am located about 60 miles north of Detroit, in Flint area. You can test drive the car, please contact me to arrange in advance.
