I have a 1998 Lincoln Mark VIII making over 300HP. It has an all aluminum DOHC 4.6L (Same as Cobra but different intake manifold) with open exhaust after the 3rd cat and an SCT performance chip that gives better mid range power and sportier shifts. It has chrome 18" wheels with Falken ZR rated tires and a huge transmission cooler. 98 was the best year for transmissions in this car and with coolers they are very very reliable. (Heat is their biggest enemy.) It also has a Clarion Headunit the plays mp3s and has a front aux input, a Pre-buyout Viper 5 channel amp and an Adire Shiva Mk IV subwoofer. Adire is gone now and Viper has been bought out but back in the day viper was a great mid range company and Adire was producing top of the line components and setting SPL records. The 4 speakers are all JBLs.

The car has 57,000 miles on it and really follows the classic American formula for a muscle car. Big car + big engine ] Fun. Mechanically it is in great condition, and cosmetically it is in good condition. There are some scratches on the rear bumper from a lady bumping into me and the headliner needs to be replaced. The headliner is not noticeable while driving though and will cost $130 to replace it. (From one of those mobile headliner places that come to you.) I've really enjoyed owning the car but am buying a turbo car because I have a turbo accessories business and need something to show off my parts. I bought it with 33,000 on it from an 87 year old lady in a retirement home in 2006. I have given it a basic tune up (spark plugs and alignment) so that you will enjoy it as much as I have. I will also include an 8.8" posi differential and 3.55 gears if you'd like them, installing them should put this car in the low 14s. (It currently runs high 14s)

The two costly concerns with this type of car are the transmission and air ride suspension. The air ride works well, I replaced the driver's side front bag shortly after buying it and the passenger's side a few months ago. I have also replaced the upper control arms and lower ball joints recently. The steering and suspension of this car are in good shape. The transmission as mentioned earlier has a very large cooler which adds both better cooling and extra fluid capacity. It has been serviced at very regular intervals and will need service again in about 7,000 miles. I also replaced the rear tail light ballast (they are neon lights from the factory, very neat) a few months ago.

This car would be perfect for all ages but especially someone who is young. Its cheap enough that if you total it you're not at a huge loss. You can put the same parts on the engine, transmission and rear end as a Mustang Cobra and most of the suspension parts of the Thunderbird so there is a decent size aftermarket and it is much much safer that a Mustang Cobra. in the hands of a young person. The car has never been wreck and has a clean Car Fax. As far as I know it has always been in Florida.
