I cannot believe that Lincoln would drop the Rainsence Wipers from the '04. Why? Cadillac has them, as do all of the luxury foreign cars, as did Lincoln in 2002 & 2003. Also, they dropped the Fog Light option. Why? If it's true that the Town Car buyer is older, then older people need more light to see, right? So, if the Mustang, the Cougar, the Taurus/Sable, the T-Bird all have fog lights, why then can't the Town Car?? Let me in those styling studios, darn it! :(

Thats exactly what I was thinking when you mentioned this in another thread. All Luxury cars are going from the bottom up, while Lincoln is sinking to the bottom from the top.

I'm sure the $17 they must save from the sensor has something to do with it...just like they dropped underhood lights, and like they dropped the locking glove box, etc., from the '97 T-Bird. They're slowly taking the little things away...

Also, things like remote Gas fuel door, Engine covers, ash trays (i remember our std. 89 crown vic had ashtray's and a lighter on every door).. the list goes on and on.

Sandy, the Town Car is producing a 63% fleet market ratio. Guess what that means? They no longer care about you (average buyers, nothing personal)! Lincoln is marketing/designing/constructing the Town Car for taxi/limousine service!!! I can remember when a Crown Vic used to be a Luxury car. Now its a cop car/taxi cab. That is the general direction the Town Car is headed. Sales.... its all about the bottom line. Who is buying them? Old people arent buying them, so why cater to them. I think they should re-name the Town Car. It should be called the "Luxo-Cab". I see more Black own Cars on the road with commercial plates than any other color.

ashtrays are becoming either an option or a forgotton amenity. very few cars come with them standard anymore. Used to be you got a big ashtray standard.. then they got smaller, then they became an option on many cars, now you will see them go altogether.

thats a formula for losing market share to foreign auto makers. Your right, lincoln needs whole new design team and leadership. It is no longer leading the pack it is way bringing up the rear.

In addition, when people like me, jump over to Lexus/BMW for better products, someone has to jump and call me anti-American, or something like that. If Lincoln wanted me to buy their cars, they would of catered my needs, if it's not important to them, then they are not important to me. They also don’t need me, and I sure don’t need them.


and yet, most wondering why foreign makers are taking control domestically. Instead of blaming Ford and GM, they blame the buyers for not supporting domestic products, because its the most they can do.

I agree completely.

if I was gonna buy a new car right now, it would NOT be a lincoln.... MAYBE a caddie.......... Lincoln just doesnt have anything currently I like, nor anything coming that I know of which suits my style. The closest I know of is a jag.... which is a ford of sorts I suppose. It comes down to a lack of options.

C'mon, Moe. I never called you anti-anything. I think that if you feel that way, then you SHOULD buy Lexus, BMW, Infiniti, Audi, Mercedes,Jaguar, Volvo, Saab or whatever premium imported car you like.

I am only saying that it's not "right" for me. I would not feel comfortable in any of them, except for a AERO or a S80, and then I'd probably still buy Cadillac or Lincoln. Style-wise, the M45 is about the only one that I really like, anyhow.

I only get angry when I buy a ___________ and an acquantance or neighbor says to me, " You know....... You could have had a _________________ (pick a name from above) for what you paid for THAT" ~ instead of, "Nice car - Good luck" ~

LOL!! I was not reffering to you Sandy, but I have seen this with a lot of people. and I know the real story with the blanks filled, LOL!.
