2005 Mustang GT-R (is the R for Rice?)

RE: 2005 Mustang GT-R (is the R for Rice?)

hahaha deja vu Craig, Funny you mentioned the rotation. I just got back from the Goodyear store a few minutes ago. I have the lifetime Hunter GSP9700 balance/rotation plan :) No need to get the hands dirty now... do we? Not good for the ivory interior, or the manicure.

I have this done everytime I have them change the oil, and oil/air filter with my own Mobil 1 oil and filters. After the initial alignment cost (lifetime = for the life of the tires), 17 bucks for the labor/disposal to change the oil/filters, and no charge rotate/balance the tires. Can't go wrong.

For the wheels, what's wrong with them? I think they go well with my curb feelers. Bling bling. It just makes it even more embarrassing for a hot shot whipper snapper like you to be handed his ars when tryin' to play a player with whitewalls and Conti rims. Don't you worry about how much I know about cars... Because, I almost have the knutter valve dialed-in for some serious hook-up. Just bring it if you feel frisky. lol

RE: 2005 Mustang GT-R (is the R for Rice?)

You crack me up Mike. I swear, this little "feud" must get tiring. Any time we end up responding to someone's post, we fall right back into the Gen 1(winner) Vs Gen 2(loser) battle. Haha

Anyway, the next time I am at the track, and see a Gen 2, I will line up with him/her, and post the time slip, and take a video of the run. That should settle it.

It will probably be against Todd(ToddnMiss) in his 97 LSC. And I know for a fact that he KNOWS how to drive. He;s been racing as long as I have.

If he should out-run me in his Gen 2(with exact mods I have), then I will zip it. If I should out-run him, then you should send me a pic of you that I can edit, and post here in the OWNED section.

Oh, and now that i take a closer look at the Mustang R, umm its starting to turn grainy...as in RICE. I would still drive the snot out of it though.

Craig, I think you need to re-read the post exchange between you and I in this thread. There is no mention of a little "feud" by me, and I did not fall back/resort anywhere in my posts to that subject.

I do believe your postings have more persecutory trends regarding this G2 vs g1 subject, than mine. (G2 envy? lol) I just came across one of your daily thousand postings that amused me, and inspired me to respond. Do you have the wing, and dual "5 pounder" coffee cans on order yet? :p lol

RE: 2005 Mustang GT-R (is the R for Rice?)

I like the car for the most part, including (GASP) the wing.
I'd make it all one color, and for a "street" version I'd lose the side exhaust and the obnoxious-looking fueling point. I wonder if the aero-gap in the front fender wouldn't create wind noise?
I like the front fascia. I like the muscular front quarters as long as they're not a plastic bolt-on treatment.

I personally would make the interior a little more comfortable for a daily driver. I'm glad I don't wear dresses as climbing over the roll cage wouldn't be particularly graceful...

RE: 2005 Mustang GT-R (is the R for Rice?)

My second impression is that the body kit is hideous. If they are going for spartan, why all the ricer add-ons?

RE: 2005 Mustang GT-R (is the R for Rice?)

I hate to dissappoint, but it is not Rice. Everything on the car has a reason to be there, like it or not, from the splitter on the lower front air dam to the rear wing. It is all designed to make it go fast, including the following:

"Fittingly, the concept car is powered by a 500-hp 5.0-liter V-8, which is based on a Ford “crate” engine — so named because it offers high performance in a box. Ford builds and sells the engines for $14,995 each to enthusiasts who want to do their own customizing. "

This is the modular 5.0L DOHC that most on this board would want in their Marks. Rice is adding appearance items instead of go fast items. Race is adding go fast items instead of appearance items. This car is race-built. Race > rice.
