Early registration is open at the Carlisle website. THE MORE THAT PRE-REGISTER THE BETTER. This is VERY important. Register here ASAP
I was in Carlisle the other day for a meeting about the 50th Anniversary of the El Camino and I spoke to the Events Manager a bit about the LOD and the Mark VIII classes as well as our hill location. He said that he will take a look at attendance over the last couple of years as well as pre- registrations and will do his best to put us back in four classses (Gen 1 & II, stock and modified.) Pre-registration is very important but he did say that they will also look at last year's attendance.
He also said that when pre-registering it is VERY important to watch for typos when entering the club name. Since it's all computerized we can potentially loose out on the head count if someone types in Lincolns of Distintion or some other spelling error or just LOD or a combination of both. He said they have a whole crew manually go over all the pre-registrations but many slip by. So it's very important to be exact and correct with the name.
He confirmed that another Lincoln club had expressed how much they liked being on the hill so all Lincolns wound up there because of this! I impressed on him how the LOD has been there so many years and even paid for a bench near the grandstands. He promised to look into getting us back down below.
As far as the reports that some modifieds were registered as stock he said notifying any of the Carlisle personnel or him directly they will come and look into it and re-class any vehicle not in the right class. He said this happens a lot.
