3.73 gears like little info.

Hi

I’m going to buy a new 99 cobra 3.73 with trac lock rear end from max at 5 star ford, I never install a rear end before so if any one has here and tips it would be help full. I’m hopping it will be not too bad job. I think the RMP should be about 500 more? What do you think I’ll get Miles per gallon??? This will go on my 93, I have the one piece shaft so I’m hopping I’ll be all right?

That diff is for 31 spline axles, and will not fit.

That pumpkin can be purchased in a 28 spline version. You have to specify that.

I have 3.73's but I installed a different spool and gears in my existing pumpkin. I lost 2.5 mpg on the highway.

I did it in my 97. Took 4 house on a lift. Easy to do if someone whos done it before helps.

the 99 center section is not 31 spline. That's what I bought and it dropped right in. Many people have done this mod. Just call max, he'll set you right up.
