Hi
I got my 4.10 }( pumpkin in from a user off the other forum and the driveshaft is coming next week.Iam going to do the installation my self and with my friends.
Iam going to get the polyurethane differential bushings and the speedometer gear next week.

What gear oil do I need and how much?
Do you guys have any tips for installing the pumkin and driveshaft?

I searched for back when I did mine. Someone should've slapped me for not doing a write-up.

Long story short, for the swap you pull one hub and remove the half-shaft, unbolt the driveshaft, unbolt the ABS sensors, unbolt and remove the differential housing sliding it laterally off the other halfshaft. Your exhaust may or may not be in the way. When you put in the new housing remove the c-clips from the halfshafts and lube the shafts and shaft seal with a light grease.

Of course, now is the time to think about an MMx driveshaft as well. ;)

The speedo gear is on the VSS sensor held to the side of the tranny with a single bolt. Undo the harness, unbolt and remove the sensor. A hairpin hold the gear to the shaft. You want to swap out with a white 23 tooth gear...

This may help some...

The MMX driveshaft is in the mail for over 2 weeks. x( x(

I'm not sure why you would want to paint an aluminum differential. But the bad news is that paint doesn't like to stick to aluminum. You have to chemically etch the aluminum first to get it to stay on.

What is the force lube mod and do I need it?

It's a pain in the ass, and you don't need it.
