It was Jacob, Jeremi, Steve and I (Jbird97, Mad1stgen, Sergmark, billcu).

What a great time!

It was a last minute thing for me, Jeremi emailed me at work, and said they were going to the track. I left work 2 hours early.:D

Here's some of the photos that Steve and Jeremi took:

Thanks for posting Bill. That was a lot of fun and it was cool having a few Lincolns there. I never did get that better time, oh well, next time. Next time you guys gotta get into the 14s!

Does that track hand out timeslips? :p

I see 3 cars and 4 drivers!

Glad to see some Lincolns together at the track. ;)

If Jeremi had his Mark there, there would have been 3 black Gen 2's there.:)

Here's my time slips, I'm car 134. Feel free to comment on them. Be kind though, this is only the second time I've driven at the track. The first time was with my red Mark in 2004.

I have crappy "Aristocraft" tires, and I haven't changed the plugs or even looked at the air filter yet. The 15.6 time, I lost traction big time at the start.

These should make good baselines though, as the results can only get better.:D

Bill, for a Gen2 with crappy tires, open diff and possibly lack of basic maintenance items - that ain't all that bad! Obviously, the sixty foot times are where you are in need of improvement.

Here's a tip. To help keep from spinning off the line with street tires and an open diff, do a 'double burnout'. Start with a short 2-3 second burnout, stop and roll forward a foot or two and then do another short burnout. This process will warm up both tires and give a better launch. Also, with street tires, get staged as soon as possible after the burnout(s).

Of course this will require you to time your burnout and stage with the opponent. You want him to do his burnout and be approaching the stage lights before you start your procedure so he will be prestaged before you get to the staging lights. This way you won't be waiting for your opponent at the tree.

Those are some good tips J.P. I'll have to try them as I couldn't get out of the hole nearly as well as I should be with these tires.

My camera is dead so I hope this is fine.

Car feels a lot stronger and is pulling some good ets for the 60' times. If I can just get those back down I know I could get some new fast times. Oh and run 2, well apparently they didn't clean up that oil spill too well.

The double burnout can be very effective for open differential street cars at less than optimum track prep. If you watch it being done, one tire spins during the 1st burnout, then the other tire spins during the 2nd burnout and usually both tires hook at the launch.

Traction at the launch is essential for better sixty foot times. If you spin at the launch, I'll bet it wasn't the tire that was spinning during the burnout.

Those ETs are pretty good for the sixty foot times(except for the 2nd one anyways). Looks like your car is running well - it just needs to launch better. If you could get consistent 2.1x sixty foot times, your ETs would improve by a couple tenths.

Ok Here are mine, Right lane.I had a great time . This is the first time in my life I have run down the track. Lots of fun..:big-grin:
The second one is my best and Jeremi drove the third time , a bit better:eek:
The fouth time, smoked up, no traction like I was on water.. The fifth time I won't say why.

Haha, come on Steve, reveal the secret of number 5. I think for what the reason is, the result is kind of impressive lol.

JB, wow that is a crazy good MPH your car is pulling. Your car picks up over 23mph between the 1/8th and the 1/4 mile... that car pulls hard on the top end buddy!

I know, I just need to get the low end locked down. Its funny running similar times with worse 60's than when the season started.

By the way, couple pics from the track's official photographer.

Where did you find those photos, Are there more of our cars?
Thats cool the second one has all three of us in it!!

They were on www.milandragway.com in the photo gallery section for that day. Theres one more picture that has my car behind that silver charger, but no others. This is only the second time in I don't know how many times that I've gotten a picture of my car taken.

The site is not working for me here at school, when I get home I'll post a link to all the pics taken from that day.

If you guys decide to do that on a weekend.. let me know. I can be at Milan in about 2 1/2 hours.
The first time I was ever on a track was at Milan in 1969. I have great memories of that track and the adds that ran on CKLW radio back then.

15.08, 15.09,15.14....
Serge that is quite a bracket car you have there!

3 runs, .06 difference.

I could win a bracket race blindfolded in that car!

you need to ditch the TNT races and get that car into ELIMINATIONS!!!

Especially with that .012 RT!!!! You've found the sweet spot on the tree, now go win some MONEY!!!
