as you may or may not know the ls rear end ration gears can not be changed. if you really want to make your ls scream doing the 8.8 swap with carrier from a mark viii or mustang cobra would really make her rip. J&M performance in stamford, ct can do the install as custom work needs to be done. Here is a list of parts you will need to make it happen

5. Custom front differential brace

*both cars require a custom tune from KBX Performance

Why do you have to get a custom tune from KBX? Can't you use any one of the other companies?

well he knows the swap because to my knowledge he is the only one to have done this swap. he gave me the info i neede to do mine. He has to tune the file to accept the 4.10 gears. as long as you have a programmer (i use sct excalibrator) he can send u a file...if you dont get this file your car will go into etc failure mode as soon as it hits 60mph. i guess the vehicle speed sensor doesnt know the gears are there and it throws the computer off.

I can understand all that stuff, but I'm sure there are plenty of other folks that can change the gear ratio in a tune for the LS, expecially if its a SCT Tune. :D

go ahead and get someone else to tune it and you will end up like i did with a blown engine and transmission. The LS is very finicky. The guy from kbx specializes in the ls and has a few of his own. He is the guy to get the files from and they are only 50 bucks as long as you have a tuner already
