93 base had no radio in it installed sony and no sound?

bought this thing with no radio and figured i could just install the sony i had and bypass the amp in the trunk, but im gettin nothing out of the speakers. i assume the the radio that was in it was stolen since you can see the pass window channel is bent from them poppin the glass. i put the test light on the wires in the trunk and got a light from three wires only. i kinda half assed traced the harness and it looks ok. puled the drivers rear 5x7 and got no light with the tester. theres probobably something stupid im missing here. i removed the factory amp and phone module if that matters. at this point if i cant get any ideas by tomorrow im puttin an amp in it and rerunning new wires.
 
If it was JBL - with the amp removed you disconnected the speakers!

The speaker wires all go to the amp in the package tray but they are wired differently than the traditional way so you would likely be better off running new speaker wires.

You should re-run new wires anyway...the stock wires are 24 gage or something like that.
 
Was it a JBL system?

JBL systems had both front/rear left speakers wired parallel on one channel and both front/rear right speakers wired parallel on another channel with the four tweeters wired separately.

The non-JBL speakers (4) were wired separately.

What amp bypass harness did you use?
 
god its just a metra harness that goes in place of the amp i picked up some cheap insignia 6x8s from bad buy for it yesterdayi think imjust gonna rewire the whole thing. what do i need to get the doors apart, typical ford pickle fork tool?
