95 Mark VIII trans issue

hello all, i just recently got a Mark VIII off my pop which is in great condition for its age but have been having some trans issues among other issues that haven't been taken care of. when i finally got this off my Dad this past fall i'm changed the rack, uppers, lowers, inners and outers. since the day he bought it in 98 when driving thing car would snap your neck when it shifted , which i thought wasn't right for a luxury car. he left this issue unfixed, he never drove this car during the winter so when sitting it would drip trans fluid from the tail shaft seal. my pop would put add all purpose fluid :frown:.... for years. i got this car in late 2013 but didn't really drive it until spring and started noticing vibration (rumbling) when driving. doing my own research before bugging you folks i changed the 1 and 2 accumulator pump seals, drained the torque converter and put the correct fluid in and the trans got worse. soooo you think the trans is toast? when putting car in D i can feel the trans go into gear but the car hardly moves almost like i'm power braking. i do hear what sounds like clicking but hard to tell where its coming from. once i get the car moving it's like it slips out of gear then it will grab again. i want to sell the car but than i really don't. i've only seen a handful in my area not nearly in this good of condition. i've change transmissions before, this one doesn't look fun, there is alot of stuff in the way. what could i expect for a rebuild charge if i pull it or is there a different year or trans model thats less prone to this "rumbling" i've read so much about. this 4R70W seems to be one of Fords models that goes in all sorts of trucks and cars, newer and older. if i find one out of lets say a truck will it work in this MK8?

thanks for some input
