today i went and got the new rear bearing's for my 1995 lincoln mark viii i got the whole spindle off but i cant get the bearing out so i went to auto zone to see if they had a puller i could use to get the bearing out of the spindle they said i had to use a press and i would have to take it to a machine shop but someone on here told me all u need is a puller how do i fix this the only thing attatched at the moment is hub bearing and spinle how do i get this appart ? and also could i put the hub's from a 2000 mustang gt instead of the markviii hub's ? cuz i have a set of gt rims i wanna hrow on they look nice.

Ok....its not as easy as it sounds dude.

YES you need a press, and NO you can't just put the GT hubs on. :) If you're going to do the swap, you better do it right.

99 Cobra front Hub assemblies
99 Cobra rear hubs

Now you have to drill the Cobra lug bolt pattern into your Mark 8 Rotors in order to use the Mustang rims, if you do not want to go through the hassle of drilling the rotors, than you'll have to do a complete brake swap. Makes a HUGE difference, but it isn't cheap, per say.

Here are some pics of my swap.....

ok today i woke up and called auto zone pep boy's and chief auto part's and everyone said that rear hub's are not required for the rear what the hell are they talking about im trying to find the hub's so i can atleast put my rear rim's on untill i do the front i already got the rear hub's and spindle's off so iwanna swap em while i already have them off where can i go to get the new cobra 99 rear hub's??

You can NOT just install the rear rims on the stang hubs without re-drilling the bolt pattern on the Mark 8 rotors.....unless you get 99 Cobra rotors and buy the caliper bracket relocation kit.

There is no "easy" way to get the GT rims on the Mark 8 dude. :(

And honestly, its easier to do the fronts first because the 99 Cobra hubs will bolt right on, and than you install the Cobra calipers and rotors, no modification required.

The front swap is a breeze the rear's will take years off your life. I went with the complete swap in the rear (the only way I knew how) grinding on the brake brackets, getting axle off the hub (ended up giving up and scraping the whole axle, spindle, hub, etc. and getting new / salvage) getting the rims with the right offset, fitting and test fitting and fitting the relocation bracket about 10 time per side, brake lines, etc. It was a nightmare. I've got some pictures but not enough for a How to.
