Have a 98 continental with 68,000 miles. Have replaced the front tires on 8-10,000 mile intervals. Have had front end worked on both by local shops and by Lincoln Mercury dealership. the tires continue to wear out on the inside. Had a 95 Continental prior to this one and no problems such as this. Any sugestions.

RE: 98 continental

Are you having 4 wheel alignments done?

The outside edges of the tire wearing is a Camber problem, I think. The car is tracking with the front tires closer together at the bottom (6 o'clock position) than at the top.

Also, too heavy a spring for the weight can also cause this.

RE: 98 continental

Thanks for that info. I do not really know for sure if four wheel alignment was done. Tires are wearing on the inside instead of the outside. I have talked to a mechanic about this who hopefully can figure it out.
