A visit with an old friend.

We found our old VIII sitting on a car lot here in town. It's been 2-1/2 years since we traded it, but we both recognized it instantly. It doesn't look too much different or abused, but has a lot more mileage. We took a walk around it and spotted all these little things that jogged our memories: stone chip repair in windshield; folded front weatherstrip; crinkled rear window rubber; trim dents from Sandy breaking sheet ice; dual Magnaflows; giant sway bars; same Firehawk tires.

It also brings back memories of road-trips and people we met from Chicago to Houston and points in between. So I just thought I stop by to say "HI".

That's awesome!!! I bet the last owner also has great memories, and the next one probably will too. Stop by again some time.

Awwww, Dave, that's so cool. I miss hanging out with you and Sandy. We had some good times. Say Hi to Sandy for me, and try to come out to a meet or two this year so we can see you guys again.

I still visit here on a somewhat regular basis, but it's more reading than writing unless I have something relevant to add. If there's a meeting going on within a reasonable distance, I think we'd try to attend, this time in our Crown Vic. What's a couple of valves and camshafts amongst friends?

Reminds me of a friend's experience with a Buick Reatta. He owned the car for about a year, and traded it in on a '93 Seville. Another year later, he moved 150 miles away. He found his old Reatta sitting at a car lot about 5 miles from his new house. That was weird!

Ron,

I'm usually up for going to the track anytime. The time we went up together was my first time, but I've been back plenty of times since to St, Thomas, Grand Bend and TMP. I bought a used '99 Crown Vic a few weeks ago and already had it to the track just to see what it would do.

Look for Sandy at the College if you're around there. She's in the Student Services office. And shoot us a note if you want to go to the track.

If you go to the track in canada, is it a quarter mile, or something funky like 500 meters? Do they give you your speeds in km/h?

RE: A visit with an old friend.

Fortunately, the metric system has not yet f***'d up the drag racing scene in Canada. Still 1/4 mile distance, mph trap speed.
