Advance Auto (Carter) fuel pumps.

I had to buy a Carter fuel pump from Advance and I was wondering about reliability problems? The shop doing the work warned me against these parts but I am not going to pay $600 bucks for a new pump.Does anyone have experience with these pumps? Thanks .

that pump should be fine. there are a lot of other pumps out there as well. you can pick up a walbro 255 from between 90 and 120 on the internet depending on where you look. i sell them for 110 my self but i have seen them cheaper.
