Aftermarket brake options

A while back, when I was out of town, apparently the LSC had some brake issues(reports of a brake smelling bad). I had the mechanic at work take a quick peak at the time and he said the front calipers appeared to be sticking/dragging.

Today, I pulled the wheels for maintenance and basically I disassembled, inspected, cleaned, lubricated the slider pins and reassembled. I thought the passenger side showed signs of sticking/dragging, but nothing definite. My worst concern was seeing the previous owner had selected semi-metallic pads, something I'm not so fond of.

Anyways my question is, if my future holds brake work on the '91 LSC and I elect to upgrade, what are some of my options? I'm thinking calipers, rotors and pads... the works.

RE: Aftermarket brake options

When my '86 Bill Blass had brake problems (smelling like they might be burning), I was on my way to get new tires anyway. They found that the front brake hoses were crimped. The only thing we could figure was that when my brakes were done, the calipers were moved away from the rotor in such a way that the hoses were kinked and caused the brakes to hang up or drag until finally, they hung up really bad. Probably the stop and go traffic I was in on I-10 aggravated an already bad problem and just about had the brakes smoking. Not sure I explained myself very well, but wanted to give you something to check out. Good luck!
