Aftermarket radiators?

Just curious, what radiators do all the high HP people on this forum use. By high HP I mean over 400. I need something for my supercharged Mark I'm building, so it cannot interfere with the supercharger. What fits?

RE: Aftermarket radiators?

Pretty much everyone uses a Griffen.I dont remember the part number, but its the generic fit for Fords. You have to modify it a little but it fits with the blower, cause I have done a couple with Vortechs.
You have to cut off the radiater cap neck and weld it up, and weld on some tabs to mount it.
You will then have to bend the lower radiator support to essentially lower the radiator to clear the inlet tube of the blower.

RE: Aftermarket radiators?

I had heard that the generic griffen radiators work. Has anybody tried any of the Griffen or Fluidyne radiators made specifically for cobras. I have seen some of these for sale cheap and didn't know how easy it is to modify them to fit.

I hear alot about Tbird guys using 03 Cobra radiators- will those fit on our cars?

RE: Aftermarket radiators?

I use a generic one. And I will in the red car soon as well. They are too cheap and easy to make work to go with anything else.

RE: Aftermarket radiators?

i have sold about 10 or so none griffrens including the one dennis R has in his car. the generic one is cheap but must be modded but there are many that just fit with out much problems.

RE: Aftermarket radiators?

Are you saying this so he buys one from you, or are you going to tell him what part number it is?

This is the 24" X 19" GRI-1-26202-X
This is the 27.5" X 15.5" GRI-1-26241-X
This is the 27.5" X 19" GRI-1-26242-X
This is the 26" X 19" GRI-1-26222-X
This is the 22" X 19" GRI-1-26182-X
This is the 31" X 19" GRI-1-26272-X

All available for 189$ from Summit. THey have the FOrd style inlet and outlet like you need. Measure what you need and then order.

THe 15.5" tall would be a good one for a SC car. Icannot remember how wide of a radiator you can get though. I think the one I have in the pearl car is a 15.5" tall.
