Where is the computer for the air ride ? I want to cut the wire so the dash readout will stop telling me to check air ride system.

RE: air ride computer

hmn lets see. I'm going to go out on a limb here and make the crazy assumption that your computer is telling you that because maybe, there's somthing wrong with the system? Just another guess, disrupting the input to the computer will most likely not fix it. Your next post will probably be where can I get a new air ride compressor, or new struts or rear bags. You may even want to convert over to coils. You may have detected a hint of sarcasm, you'd be correct. The message is there for a reason. If you could simply disconnect it and the problem would go away we all would probably do it. Read the FAQ's and do a few searches and determine what your problem is. I assure you, you are not experiencing anything "new". You disconnect that computer or continue ignoring that warning you'll have a low rider in short order. It's your car do with it what you like, my .02

RE: air ride computer

OK,I do detected a hint of sarcasm. You should not asume that I want to unhook it just so I don't have to look at the message. I no longer have a air ride system on my Mark VII. Did you ever think of that ?? I got sick of spend money on it and the ride is about the same w/o it. So if you can help me that would be great if not I don't need the BS.

RE: air ride computer

Simply adding that information to your profile would be of great help to those who are trying to help. Before I answer a question for someone I usually look at a profile to determine year model, modifications such as coil swap overs. Had I known that, or perhaps you would have indicated that in your post, the post would have been answered differently altogether. Or in this case I would not have bothered to respond. Good Luck finding your answer.

RE: air ride computer

Again, You can't asume that I have or dont have air ride. All I wanted to know is where the computer is so I can cut the wire. The conversion kit tell you to cut the wire to get rid of the message. For as little as I'm on this site I didn't take the time to make a profile. I didn't know it was mandatory ? I just come here looking for help now and then. So if you don't want to help that's fine. I will find out what I need one way or another.

RE: air ride computer

My purpose is not to argue with you, let me make this as plain as I possibly can. I do no know the answer to your question. Which is why I said I would not have bothered to respond, because I did not know the answer, not because I am plotting a conspiracy against you. No it is not mandatory to fill out your profile, however it is helpful.

" I no longer have a air ride system on my Mark VII. Did you ever think of that?"

You can't assume that I have or don't have air ride. All I wanted to know is where the computer is so I can cut the wire."

which is it?, not that it matters, geez.

Look Behind RH cowl panel, above connector bracket...

The manual states...

If the Air Suspension/EVO Steering Module detects a system fault, it grounds circuit 419 (DG/LG) to the Message Center and the "Check Air Ride System" message turns on. The Warning Message also turns on if the service switch is off with the ignition on.

I surmise cutting this wire(circuit 419 (DG/LG)) will do the trick?

RE: air ride computer

It would probably be easier to cut the wire at the message center...

I'd have to scan the schematic to point out which wire. Email me and I'll help you out. You do have a Mark VIII, right? You stated your VII doesn't have air ride...
