Air Ride Help!!!!!!

On my 94 Mark I’ve replaced all airbags checked for leeks changed Orin’s and adjusted the level of the car, all solenoids seem to be working good. I can leave the car parked and start the car it will raze to drive height all seems good then a few moment later the compressor kicks on again solenoid clicks and all stops and check air ride comes on. (Iv rigged a switch to reset it without killing the car) reset the air ride and it all seems good. I can drive the car for a while and its fine; it seems to be random however it kicks on the check air ride. it even comes on after hitting HW speed and it lowers the car
IM THINKING ONE OF THREE THINGS
1. Compressor is old and isn’t razing the car to height in a specific amount of time (fast enough in a cycle)
2. Sensor or sensors may not be operating in spec.
3. Old owner of the car may have changed sensors and might have a front or rear switched.
NEED HELP
How do I test censors?
How do I tell front and rear censer apart?
ANY HELP WILL BE WELL RECEVED.

How do I tell front and rear censer apart?

Ok, im looking at the sensors i removed from my 93.

The fronts have FRONT engraved on them and have gray connectors.

The rear has REAR engraved on it and has a black connector that has a different orientation to the other ones - looks like they can't be mixed up. Anyway, take a look at yours - all will become apparent.

Now under the dash part of the stirring the object that looks like a magnetic pickup around a DISK on the stirring shaft (I ASSUME IT IS A STIRING SPEED AND DIRECTION SENCOR) the plastic composite bracket is cracked and lets the pickup touch the disk. Would that cause the air ride malfunction and check air ride to come on?

i have an airride compressor two acutally i juste replaced mine the compressor the release solinoid was stuck closed. if your solinoid is good then all you have to do is switch them out

i have an airride compressor two acutally i juste replaced mine the compressor the release solinoid was stuck closed. you can msg me back if you need help i will be at the sonic on 3040 roundgrove till around 9:30 or 10 tonight. lewisville

have you removed your airbox and silencer. if so it will be easier to get to i would check and see if you have air leaking from the valve in the compressor i am guessing here but if the valve sticks partially open then it would not build enough pressure and throw the code. the valve is in the head of the compressor. It is inside the pump in the boxed area. cannot be repaired but can be replaced the solinoid that is

Well while I was out doing some running around I did some testing. It looks to me as if the mane problem is whenever it needs to lower. Nearly every tome I hit HW speed to lower the check air ride would come on. I have two new front solenoids on there way can I get just the solenoid for the compressor or should I just spend the $160 and get the remand compressor

If your car is not venting properly, it's usually the vent valve in the compressor.

A reman compressor from Eddie at American air should fix it.

I've still got the original airspring solenoids on both of my cars. I don't think they fail as often as the vent valve does.

OK. Now I have the new compressor from Eddie at Am Air installed and all 4 solenoids and bags, IV worked hard to get the car a level as possible on all 4 corners and I still get Check Air Ride. (Banging my head agents the WALL, it’s all part of my plan to build a new car) So now it’s either a clogged line, bad sensor (how do you test the sensor?) or the controller. HELLP!!!!!!!!!

Ok I’ve had a shower now and bin been brain storming, see if you can tell where I'm going with this. As far as I can tell threw observation the car only opens 2 solenoids at one time. The car levels the front 2 first then after they reach height it razes the rear. After the car has been sitting I’ve noticed that I may have to turn the car off and on some time up to 9 times each time the front razed a little bit and i get "check air ride", after the front reaches its height the rear opens and razes all the way up with out a problem. After I hit HW speed I get "check air ride", I go to a stop "check air ride" turn off and back on and the front razes. (New solenoids, new bags, new compressor) IT HAS TO BE A CLOG IN ONE OF THE FRONT AIR LINES????????

Today I got out and checked all the lines for clogs (ALL GOOD) then I cut about 3/4 of an inch all the hose ends at each end and striped back the shielding so all the ends are smooth and will not leek. Still no luck. NOTHING MADE ANY SENCE everything worked but whenever I hit 60mph I got "check air ride" slow down "check air ride" after about 8 trips up the HW checking it all out I went back home and decided to try a different air ride control module I got an wrecking yard. BINGO. It worked instantly. Whenever I plug my code scanner for testing in the old module for test it would let air out of each bag thing run the pump and that was it, the new module lets air out runs pump lets air out one side at a time and levels and pumps back up then drops to park then razes back up doing about 4 tests. WHY DIDNT I CHANGE IT EARLER?

ok im new have just got a 93 have always loved them this one just droped in my lap i give 200 for it realy. body is good one bad spot only thing is i need some HELP have been doing some reading on hear and learned some the air ride is all the way down with the conpreser on it will run for a bit and not come up at all. all the way around it will sit or you can be driveing it and it will come on from time to time and not raise at all so i shut it off anywear to start would be helpful im getting ready to jack it up and do some looking im going to have to have someone look in to the tran as well in shifts but hard and and hwy speeds if your in a pull 3-4th stays in and if not in a pull it like ya put it in N could be it needs a good cleening was sitting for 2-3 years THANKS for any help
one more thing what duz anyone think about the change over to spring sys ?????????????

Look at americanairsuspension.com for troubleshooting help on the air suspension and for options to change over to springs.

Try changing the MLPS on the tranny - make sure you get the alignment right.

??????????

??????????

ok whatz up with my post. no one wants to talk to me or am i just not getting them put on hear ??

Al, if you've got problems with your air ride, you need to try to explain to us what the problem is.

The solution is usually to get new airsprings and/or a rebuilt compressor. It might just be a bad relay too.

Here's a good website to help you narrow it down:
