Air Ride Off

My Mark pulls to the left under braking forces and after much trial and error my mechanic determined that the cause was worn bushings in the strut attaching the control arm to the frame. I think. Anyway, I'm waiting for the bushings to come in, but in the meantime I picked it up from the mechanic and ever since the Check air ride message has come on at start up so the system is deactivated. Perhaps the mechanics didn't re-assembe
it properly, I don't know. Anyway...my question is will it cause any permanent damage to drive around for a while with the air ride off? She's riding a little low...

No, the switch is on...
I'll have the problem fixed when I parts arrived, but I'm worried I might damage something in the meantime...

If it's just 'riding a little low', probably not. Now if it leaks down and bottoms out, that's a different story.

If the message comes on immediately, it's probably a height sensor left unplugged or has become disconnected if you didn't have this problem before. If the compressor runs and 90 seconds later the message comes on, it is the inability of the system to pump the bags up for some reason.

Have a quick peek at the height sensors for something obvious.

RE: Air Ride Off

I would look closely at front ball joints as far as a brake pull is concerned. The ball joint that is bad will cause the brakes to pull to that side. Happened on my 97.

RE: Air Ride Off

strut rod bushings tend to wear out. Lower control arm bushings have always been the culprit when my mark started to pull, though.
