Air Ride Question

So Is there an easy way to test if the vent valve works. I just replaced the front air bags and now the car sits too high and I get a check air ride.

Only use the brakes to stop and get gas.

RE: Air Ride Question

The level sensors are starting to go, maybe?

I finally got HOTLNC fully up. It only took all new air suspension parts except for air hoses and rear valves. Everyting else is new.

RE: Air Ride Question

I tested the solenoid when I had it out. Maybe I dont have a good connection on the sensors.

RE: Air Ride Question

When I changed my struts a while ago, the sensor popped out of its place, and caused the same symptoms.

What would happen is that it would keep pumping to try and satisfy that sensor, but since its stuck, it would keep pumping till the hits the MAX limit, triggering a sensor that would cut off air to the strut so it wouldn’t explode, in return giving me an Air suspension warning.

RE: Air Ride Question

u should check the rubber washers inside the solenoid. pulled out the rear solenoid, and the big rubber washer and 2 small ones were missing, causing air to leak. i got the rebuild kit from lincoln for $17 CAN each.

good luck

RE: Air Ride Question

I agree, Moe. It's the most likely reason, and also the easiest to check. I've seen far to many instances over the years of guys working on front ends who knocked sensors off or forgot to clip them back on. There's a possibility that a sensor or wiring to it got damaged, but let's not go there yet!

Keith, you have to remember the vent valve is on the compressor body and is common to the entire system. It is highly unlikely it would be the reason for only one or two corners being high.
