AirFoil?

Did the '93s come with the 'airfoil' beneath the front bumper? I've lost my parts PDF.

JP, mine says they both have "Valance panels", but they are different in the Gens. The Gen II's panel is MUCH deeper. Gen I P/N F4LY 17626A
Gen II - F7LZ 17626 AA

Thanks Bud. I would suspect the difference in the Gen1 vs Gen2 since the bumpers are significantly different.

Wonder if Jamie or Max could hook me up?

Looked on eBay for a 93 and found someone selling chrome trim. He put CHROME on this LSC!! Wth?

According to the 93's in the "Rides" section they did....

all 1st gens came with it jp, i'll check out what i have at the shop, someone recently ran into this problem too, i think max said no longer avail, someone either here or another board made their own after getting sick of looking for one. i just hate taking them off a bumper because the next guy who asks me for a bumper wont want it with that part missing, so if i do it, you better be happy!

Ok you guys are slipping...... no one mentioned that the lsc w/chrome strips also had backwards wheel!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think the backwards wheel explains it all! BACKWARDS

JP that thing helps push air up into the radiator and helps deflect air towards the front of the tire, which is to cool the brakes {might contribute to less warping?)

but.. Jeff the guy that got tiffs old car (grey ghost) put a mach 1 chin spoiler under it and I have to admit.. it DIDNT look bad.

Both of my 94's were missing these when I bought them. I never had problems from that.

I do see more without them than I see with them.

The Mach 1 chin spoiler does look good.

I'm actually thinking it adds aerodynamics as well by reducing airflow under the car?

that's what Jeff said almost verbatim..

I didn't want to "say it out loud" and have to debate the ins and outs of aerohydrothermaldynamical loads with some internetscientist, so I made/make no claims other than it "looks pretty good"...HAHA

Jeff said the car felt tighter and had less wind noise/rumble.

It would be interesting to see wind tunnel test results with and without it. After all, the Mark VIII had/has very low drag coefficient numbers. I surmise both the dynamic suspension lowering and the chin spoiler were complimentary components to the results.
