RE: All I smell is Gas!
My fears have been confirmed. I pulled the inner fender well, and guess what? Thats right, they never even removed the clips on the fuel filter seal, meaning that they never changed the filter. My Genuine AutoZone Purolator filter was still in there with the original clips.
I called the dealership and taked to the General Manager. He told me how embarassed that he was and a whole bunch of other BS. He then told me that a car carrier would be at my house first thing in the morning to brong the car in to be fixed, completely on the house. I told him, first of all, you will never, EVER see my car again. I am not allowing your service department to even think about working on my car. The guy said 'on the house' like he was doing me some sort of favor. NO! You would be doing the work that I already paid you for and that you documented as being done. This is called Fraud and negligence. He didnt seem to understand. I then called the OWNER. I told him the situcation and he told me that he had 'heard of it.' I told him I wanted, at bare minimum, my money back. He told me he would see what he could do. HE IS THE OWNER. What does he have to go ask his wife? Seriously. I also have calls into the BBB and the Atorney Generals office of consumer protection. I think they will come around.
Anyways, the point: Once I get my money back, I am going to just do the repair myself. I want to replace the whole rubber tube on the end of the fuel line. That way I get the seat and seal installed properly and no messing around. What am i going to need to do this? Has anyone done this before? My uncle is a mechanic, so worse case scenario, I throw some cash his way and get him to help if I need it. But what kind of project am I looking at? Anyone with any advice I'd love to hear it, thanks.
