Almost done!

I got the intake in (98 cobra) and everything is done but the air inlet tube and the cruise cable. I think I f'ed it up though. I was sitting here on the couch and it hit me like a ton of bricks. I didnt plug the holes in the bottom of the intake. They were all threaded so all I had to do was put some screws in there, but I completely forgot. Does anyone know if they go all the way through? If they do it will cause a huge vaccum leak, but if not I will just leave it the way it is. I really dont want to take it all off again.

Also, the gas pedal doesnt have a lot of tension. Is that because the CC cable isnt connected?

Thanks for all the help, pics will be up in about a week.

Not yet, waiting for the air inlet tube to come in the mail.

And the CC cable acts as a return spring also hince the "loose" cable feal.

There's actually a return spring on Cobra. I can get you a pic from my '98 if you'd like.

Here are some pics so far, just about there, only waiting for the inlet tube and TPS cable needs extended.

Thanks for the warning. I couldnt find any 3/4" vac tubing around here and 5/8 wouldnt fit on the nipples. I guess it will do until I get the real thing.

It was a lot easier than I thought. Pretty straight forward swap. Only tricky part was all the vac lines. I used the EGR opening for the brake booster, the hard line that came with the intake for the PCV, and cut up the plastic T line from the original pcv and used that to connect the other tube in the back.

I am gonna have lonnie burn my chip and be ready to rock

I never had a problem with heater hose for the IAC line.

When I put mine on, I hacked up the stock inlet tube with some PVC and a bunch of epoxy putty to make it work. I was driving it for over a month before I got a cobra inlet tube. I made it work with what I had and drove it, then worried about making it look pretty.

Cool, thanks. I drove it this morning and man what a diference!! I cant believe how much it woke up the car!!! Its amazing! I wish I had done this years ago! It will be even better when I get it tuned.

im thinking of doing the swap on my 94 but not sure if the stock hood will still work and what all i will need to replace.
