So I've replaced almost all of the front end suspension parts on my 95, but I'm hung up by 2 stupid nuts. When I try to tighten the front spindle to the lower ball joint, the ball and stud spin in the socket. This keeps the nyloc nut from biting on the stud. How can I keep the ball joint stud from spinning, so I can properly torque down the nut?

I've tried impact, tried jacking up the lca into the spindle in case it might be tapered, neither method worked.

The trick here is to take a non locking nut and draw the joint up tight into the socket. and then remove the non locking nut and replace it with the nylok nut. There should be enough friction to hold the joint while you tighten the nut.

I use a prybar to pry down on the spindle thus forcing the joint apart. Then use an air gun. Works fine.

At first I thought, 'Where will I find a nut that big without going back to the fastener place 45 minutes away?' Then I realized I could trim the nylon out of the old nut and use it. Worked great, thanks.
