Alternator blues...

Ok, everyone who has no idea what they are talking about please raise your hands... :D

What about a second alt? or perhaps a second batt in the trunk?

LOL...in the trunk?

I've learned the trunk is a good place for the second alternator.

It's always there when you need it! LOL :D

I received the Cobra alternator today. It looks the same as all the others. Too tired to mess with it tonight though.

Um... I did say second BATT in the trunk :D

Although, since you're making fun of me... (which I'm always game for :D ) it got me to thinking... :p
There was a company that made the Eldorado TwinStar,
which was a Eldorado (in case that wasn't clear yet) that had a NorthStar where GM put them, and then a second NorthStar in the trunk... :D

So... yes, I think you should put a second alt in the trunk, attached to a second Cobra motor... :D

I found a link...

I know you didn't mean it that way, but my wording was incorrect...I didn't mean that you meant that the 2nd alternator would be running via the trunk. I was sarcastically extending your logic to be silly. Totally didn't mean to make fun of you...sorry. :)

And I didn't even consider JP's interpretation of storing one in the trunk. That would actually make sense; not very humorous for our cars whatsoever...unfortunately. My alt is original with 105k on it. Maybe I should be carrying a spare around...

I was just messin' with you... no worries :D

But I do think JP should add a second cobra block in the trunk... :D
I have no idea how you could make that work, but I'm more of a big picture kinda' thinker when it comes to stuff like this... :p

i think some road race cars have them attached to pinon flanges? i seem to remember seeing it a couple times.

Ya...I've seen them in person on circle track cars. Keeps the load off of the engine.
