American Muscle Meet - Atlanta Dragway Sept 5,6

I am grounded to California events... maybe Nevada or an adjacent state. I didn't even go to Hot August Nights this year, no real interest because of all the gang violence now. I have been staying out of trouble since I moved here from San Jose.

Had fun at the car show today. 5th place. :) Would of had more fun if I was racing though. Here are some pictures of the action.

Nice.

Nice.

Thanks for sharing the pics Mike. Your car looks badass sitting there among the old school muscle. Man you car sits low. How much clearance do you have for the suspension? It looks like it would bottom out on the freeway going over a bridge. Or do you have drop mod and run it regular height for driving?

Where were the old school Camaros and Trans AMs? I see Mopar all over the place. acckk were outnumbered! I guess that Pontiac Prostreet will hold me over for pics. haha

WTH Mike?! No racing???

You mean to tell me you took your car to an event like this and didn't enter to race?? My God man, you are made of steel - how could you sit there in the car show with that beast of yours and smell the rubber and hear the burnouts without jumping in the brackets??? That had to have been torturous!!

Have Wendy check your pulse! LOL! :lol3:

Thanks, Jeff :) The Mark is real low. I plop down into the drivers seat now lol. I get in and air it up then go turn the air ride off when I go on the interstate. I need one of them asham or module8 controller things in the cockpit, or a switch to just turn it on and off so I do not have to go into the trunk.

There were plenty of Camaros and TA's there. They just did not park near me.

lol JP, It sucked big time not racing. Not trying to dis the car show guys, but I have way more fun racing :) I did light them up during the show car parade lap on the return road in front of the grandstands

Actually, I spent most of the day watching the racing action, rather than politicking for car show votes.

The Mark needs either a second blow-off valve, or, fab up a bracket to secure the MAF tube to the throttle body. If I totally lift from WOT, the almost 17psi of boost at 7k + is enough to blow the tube off at the throttle body - even with the t-bolt camps, and I don't need a bent up tube and a dent in the hood.

My other problem, was the external oil catch can/breather, and that was installed last Friday. Ryan still needs to put the new inner tube in one of the slicks too.

Not enough time to get it all done, so it was more of a shake down run for me. The drive to the track and back is about 200 miles, and that is the farthest distance I have driven it since last November for SSHS7.

Even though I have yet to mat the gas, I tell you, that thing pulls real good at 3k and up. :) Once I get the MAF tube ironed out, I will be going back to play for sure.

Car looks great Mike!! To bad you don't have new times yet. The Vette you parked next to was the same color as my 69.

Thanks, Serg. :) I hope to have The Mark race ready real soon. That was a real nice Vette. He placed in the Chevy category, that was won by the black SS parked behind me. The black SS looked better than a new car. It looked like it has never been on the street.

I entered another car show this past weekend, that was AMCA/PARMCK judged, and won a top 30 trophy. It was a lot of fun, but like I said before, I would rather be at the drag strip :)
