Ok, so I bought a new Kenwood CD/iPod head unit to hook up to my otherwise stock system.
Included in the package from Crutchfield is one of those amp adapters that plug into the RCA style speaker jacks and then into the factory harness.
I get everything hooked up, solder all the harness connections for the power, antenna, amp power, etc. NO SOUND!
So I'm messing around, checking connections, etc, when I pull out one of the RCA plugs. When it's most of the way out (only the center point is making contact) I get sound. I do this to all of the 4 speaker connections and they do the same thing. Basically working without the outer portion of the plug making contact.
Crutchfied thinks it's a bad adapter. I think so too. It looks hand wired so there is room for error. They are sending one to me ASAP to see if that's the issue.
Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas?
