I went to Pittsburgh Raceway Park today for the first time at that track this year. It was a nice autumn day and I wanted some more practice before the trip to Atlanta for the Super Southern HeavyWeight ShootOut.
The track was very busy, typical for a Test and Tune session, and the staging lanes were full to the brim and overflowing. But I managed to get 5 runs in despite a couple breakdowns and one major cleanup of the track.
I started off slow with a 13.716 @ 99.76 spinning off the launch. I adjusted the tire pressure and waited for the second round. This time it spun just a little off the line but the timeslip showed better with a 13.640 @ 100.29. The next two rounds were consistent with 13.661 @ 100.38 followed by 13.642 @ 100.40.
When they called for the final round I was determined to get a 13.5 something. I had been launching off idle and decided to load the suspension stalling the converter at launch. The results:
R/T: 0.0720
60': 1.8954
330': 5.5416
1/8: 8.5728
mph: 81.04
1000': 11.1966
1/4: 13.4169 <<-New Best ET
MPH: 101.74
