Another Steering Column Problem

Today I had a Lincoln Dealer repair the cables and bearings which fixed the loose steering column in my Basic 98 Mark8. The only problem was that the "potentiometer" was also bad and they could not get the part. They even tried e-bay - but no luck. Without this part the steering wheel has no memory and will not retract in and out when the key is put into the ignition.
The telescoping function works but only in small increments with each push of the lever. Does anyone out there in Lincoln Land know where I can obtain a "potentiometer?" You guys that responded to my earlier Steering Column Post were right on. Thanks so much!!

It has been about a year ago that I had one replaced on my 97. I was ordered by a FLM dealer in a small town in NE. They had no trouble getting the part at all - of course, that was a year ago. Your dealer can launch a "find" request of all the dealers stock nationwide to locate one for you.

Call Max at 5 Star Ford (Toll Free (800) 866-1520 ) .Tell him you are part of this site and he'll do all in his power to find your part.
