There had been some discussion in the past about having a day at the drag strip on July 12/03. So I'm curious if anyone's still interested.
St. Thomas is outside of London Ontario. They are having a Niagara Mustangs + Test & Tune on the 12th as part of their "Ford Weekend". It costs C$30 and you can run as much as you like. If there's interest, we could co-ordinate a BBQ, or just be lazy and have "track food". No alcohol permitted on site.
I've drag raced a few years ago on a regular basis (low 11's @ 115mph in a pickup) so I can ride along if anyone hasn't gone before and would like to try it. Saturdays are usually pretty laid back and everyone is very helpful. New people are always welcome... I'll even buy a new bottle of shoe polish for the occasion!
Last year my car ran a best of 15.0 @ 95mph with a Diablo chip and a K&N (not to mention crappy traction - 2.30's 60' times). It's fun to go out and "wind it up" once in a while... and unless you've got some supreme power additives or super-grip traction, you'll never hurt anything.
So, is there some interest?
