Arnott Rear Shock Kit.

I just finished replacing my rear shocks. After finally getting a hold of Eddie, checking out www.fordpartsnetwork.com and experimenting with various replacement shocks from the local auto stores, including T-Bird and Crown Vic apps, I visited the Arnott website and found out they had a new product. Low and behold that new product just so happens to be a rear shock kit for our Marks!

Long story short: I had them shipped next day air and the total bill was $150.

The kit includes both rear shocks, the upper mounts, and the various nuts and bolts required. Advertised price is $129. These are not first gen OEM shocks (they have an Arnott logo on them), but they look very similar, carry a lifetime warranty, and they ride great. Installation took 45 minutes all together and half of that time was spent getting the rear tires off and looking for tools.

I emailed Adam Arnott about LOD discounts, but I have not heard back from him yet. Here is a link to their site: www.arnottindustries.com

Are you comparing the ride to OEMs and others? I like the softer ride on my 98 and don't want to get too sturdy back there.

I assume these are based on the Gen2 shocks, right? (That is - without the sensors)

EDIT ------

Just checked the link above - they obviously are Gen2 based - and retrofit the complicated Gen1 anti-dive sensor system.

As far as the ride is concerned, I do not notice a difference between these and the stockers. They are definitely not "firm". So far they are holding up great.

RE: Arnott Rear Shock Kit.

I got these shock about a month ago and I think they perform great. I also got a LOD discount, shocks $110. I e-mailed them and they quickly responded the next day, gaving me a perferred customer account in which I could order the shock on-line with this discount. I am a paying LOD member, if anyone wanted to know. I don't know why the little green or blue sign is not beside my name.
