I'm not sure what you mean by that, JP. With a centrifigal blower like the Vortech the boost builds with more RPM. There have been attempts at making a turbo style boost controller work with a centrifigal blower and the results have been great. Since the blower isn't run off the exhaust it has been harder to make a boost controller work but it has been done but there is no off the shelf product avaliable yet.

I understand that. The max psi boost is now 8 psi at redline from reading the build thread. With a smaller pulley, reaching 8 psi will be at a proportionately lower rpm. Wouldn't the blow off valve limit the maximum boost to 8 psi at higher rpms that otherwise would be, say 10 to 12 psi?

Or am I missing something?

Thanks, jbird97. :)

Serge, I have been lucky, and have not driven on the interstate in the rain with them, but they are not bad going in a straight line. They make the car feel loose in the rear around corners on the interstate though, even with 35 psi in them.

JP, I can't wait for the cooler weather :)

The blow off valve is adjustable from what I have read about it. I will ask Aric to see if a pulley change and blow off valve adjustment can be managed reliably, without a chance of over boosting. Great idea :)

Congrats Mike!
Really good 1/4 mile time and MPH. I am sure there is more in the car!
It would be kinda cool up my vette and your car and run down the 1/4, since your mark is a beast!

Thanks, Max. That would be a cool race to see our cars line up. I am going to call Aric and see what he thinks about the pulley change and blow off valve limits, and if there is any thoughts on the trans schedule yet.

If the pulley idea does not work, how about a 50 shot of juice for track use only... ;)

I don't think there is any space left for a meth tank under the hood. If anything, I would rather have a windshield wiper squirter bottle instead. Still have to figure out what to do about that. :)

Well, Here is the plan for now... A 1-2 size pulley change, and a 100 octane race gas tune. Looking to net 400-420 to the wheels. That, plus a 10th or two gain with the transmission schedule dialed in, and another 10th with better traction, should get me more into the lower 12's for SSHS7. :)

Aric does not want to use the juice or meth at all. He said I would need a turbo style waste gate, and more plumbing to make more boost sooner in the rpm band and blow off any excess boost. He will get started on all this when I return from the Michigan meet. :)

lol Jeremi, You know I can't leave this thing alone :) Aric has measured already for the pulley change. Not sure if they ordered a Vortech or Reichard Racing pulley though. BTW, give that intake a hug for me  We have picked out a sweet polished Accufab throttle body for it already.

It's gonna make you even happier knowing that the middle post was already removed to allow for a single blade TB ;)

Way Cool Jeremi. Thanks. :) Do you still have the fuel rails for it? I am thinking that Aric is going to want as much Cobra intake stuff to transfer on to the Mark as you got.

Nope, no rails. I do have a set of IMRCs but I don't think you gonna need them. Aric can reuse the Mark VIII rails with little mods, or run cobra with even more mods to the supply and return lines.
