Well, It has been since June of last year, and 8k miles since I installed the one step colder range Autolite APP103 (.048 gap-up indexed 10ft/lb tq) double plat spark plugs in the Mark. I decided to put the stock heat range regular copper 764's (.054 gap-up indexed 12ft/lb tq) in and give them a try since I have noticed a little soot on the exhaust tips. I suppose this is to be expected since I did not follow through and get the dyno tune and chip I intended to do last year.
I suspect that the plugs would have looked worse if I did not Seafoam the engine a few times since they were installed. I passed GA emissions last month with no problems, but hope the cats and o2's did not suffer too much. I will probably go back to this plug if I ever get a chip.
I am curious though, if anyone with a dyno tune and chip that has one or two step colder plugs, did you have carbon build-up from running fat like mine?
