does anyone know if the B&M ShiftPlus Electronic Shift Improver will work with a 98 mark? it only lists it workin with up to a 97 and i would like somethin to get me firmer shift but isnt to hard to install.

Stay far, far away. The B&M Shift Improver simply raises line pressure via the EPC(Electronic Pressure Control) Solenoid. Not good for longevity of your transmission in the long run.

what shift kit would you recomend? something that isnt hard to install becuase transmissions confuse the crap out of me to be honest :frown:

I used and recommend a Baumann shift kit.

The current tranny in the '93 had the J-mod setup put in it when it was built. You can read about it at the TCCoA website.

I have the Baumann kit too and I'm very happy with it. We got to pick the setting I liked best (well, not really, I LOVED the hardest setting but figured it'd make for a much too jarring ride to work).

was this installed by there company or was it a do it yourself deal? cause like i said trnasmissions is the only part of a car that i dont fully understand

Baumann comes with very good directions, I feel that is the biggest part of what you are paying for. I used it and it worked well. It consists of nothing more than drilling the separator plate and shimming the accumulator, VERY similar to the j-mod.

doesnt seem to complicated, when i have the money i will look into getting one thank you for the advice.
