well i always told myself never take gas from another vehicle, specially one you know nothing about. my buddy had a fuel pump to do in his shop and the tank was filled so to make life easier he drained about 12 gallons, he asked me if i wanted some so i opened the cans to smell them, of course after years of smoking i cant smell that great anymore, but it smelt like gas to me! so i dumped 10 gallons in my mark, big mistake!!!!! for the 1st 2 days after it ran fine, i figured no problems, but yesterday it started very weird in the morning, it sounded like a car cranking with no compression and when it finally started it was running terrible, i mean real bad, and wouldnt stay running on its own till it got hot, then it was fine, the rest of the day it didnt act up, this morning i go out to start it and leave and even worse, it almost wouldnt start and when it did i could smell a varnish type smell from the exhaust and serious timing ping, luckily i only had about a 1/4 tank left, so i went and got some dry gas, octane booster, filled the tank with super, changed my throttle body and tps sensor ( not because of the gas, it needed a new tps sensor ) then ran a can of seafoam through it and new plugs and did all that i also scraped out and sucked up all the carbon that was blocking the egr hole in the intake holy gunk batman!!, now she screams i cannot believe the difference from doing this, and all the way home i was averaging 19.7 mpg thats pretty damn good for a 15 pushing 16 year old v-8 with 115k!! i guess in a way im glad i put the bad gas in it, otherwise i wouldnt have done all this!

also, what came in our cars for stock plugs back then, was there a such thing as motorcraft paltinum's back then? when i took mine out, they were just that, but i didnt think they had platinum back in 93. its a damn good thing i did them when i did though because they were all just a touch over hand tight, i almost didnt need a ratchet for 7 of them, that scares me thats all i need is to fall victim of a threadless spark plug hole!

They did indeed use Platinum plugs in '93.

May want to add fuel filter to that list as a precaution after another tank or two.
