bad moonroof sunroof gear

Hi All
I have a 96 Mark VIII and it seems like a gear is broken in the sunroof/moon roof. When the sunroof is operated (especially when it is lifting) I have this clicking noise which sounds like a bad gear with worn teeth. I have removed the motor and tested it and it seems to be perfect. I also turned the round bit which is normally turned by the motor and I could still hear the clicking so I assume that the broken gear is in the housing or rail assy. The problem is that I couldn’t get to the bad gear as I didn’t want to remove the complete roof panel so I’m not 100% sure where it is.
I assume that ether the “housing” or the “rail assy” contains the bad gear but I’m not sure.
I would need advice which part to order in if I want to replace the bad gear?! housing or the rail assy?!

I would really appreciate any advice!!!!
Thanks a lot!!!!!!!!!

You might want to do a search on sunroof in this forum...Seems as tho I've seen a number of posts about this very thing recently....or just wander down the list of posts...It was fairly recently. I don't have a moon/sun roof, so I can'y help you with the problem.
