Ballast for the Neon

Hey guys,

I have a general question about the ballast? What does it do? Can you just hookup your neon parallel to your brake lights and bypass it?

No, A ballast limits the amount of current in an electric circuit. You need it for the neon to work.

Oke, How much current is the neon supposed to have? There are other (cheaper than $175 used ebay) ways of restricting current.

We've been promoting glitch for a couple of years now for the replacement ballast. I've had one in my 97 for about that long!

Its not a surprise to see ballasts on e-bay for $175. A person with average knowlege of Mark VIII parts prices would realize that there are many many items on that site that are priced all over the spectrum. I.E. cup holders @ $200, HID bulbs (used) $200, even $300.
