Bed Diving and Other Oddities

Well, like it says "bed diving"
Sunday morn at 2am we were woken by my son. He fell off his top bunk and hit his front teeth on the bottom drawer of his dresser. It was really bad.
We rushed right off to the hospital. After going to our local hospital here in Lafayette they said ti was too much and they sent us to Riley Hospital in Indy.
The damage was bad. His one front tooth chipped almost completely in half and loose. The other front tooth twisted completely around so that the back was in the front and the front in the back. That tooth also was forced up into his nasal cavity. It also cracked his mandible from the force. the teeth on each side of his front teeth also were loose and finally he had a tooth chip embedded in his bottom lip. They ended up havign to due surgery to put his tooth back in to position and the other one out of his skull and twisted back around. They also put temp braces on his teeth to keep everything secure.
We just got back from the Oral Surgeon here today and they said they just want to leave the braces on for now and give his skull fracture a little more time to heal before they take the braces off to see what is going to heal and what may need more work. They also said that they can reattach the the chip that we found. So that is really cool! Didn't they they could do anything like that. He was a heck of a trooper!
Needless to say there is no bunk beds anymore. The one he had didn't have a rail on the top which is why this all happened and of course my wife had told me when he got it from his older sisters to put a rail on the top. I thought, "oh he is a 10 year old boy. He will be fine!" Famous last words there!

As for me; I have been down with my leg as my prosthetic is not fitting anymore. I have not been able to wear it for more then 30min. without taking it off due to major swelling. Not good as that can cause a lot more pain and damage to my knee and hip from miss alignment. I am going to the prosthetic clinic tomorrow and hopefully will have a new leg by next week. Maybe even have it tomorrow. That would be really nice but I am not going to get my hopes up.
Either way, I will have a new leg and should be back in the game very soon.
I have not been online much due to the flu and then followed by a wonderful tooth infection! Things have just been a barrel of fun around here lately.

Still haven't got my car into the shop yet either. So, i am driving my daughters rusted out old Chrysler Cirrus. It's a rust bucket but, it runs great. Just have to keep the oil can handy cuz it knows how to burn that stuff up!
aybe that is something I can take care of tomorrow as well. Car show season is here and I want in on a few of them around here. Oh, found a guy that can do my interior and all he would need to replace is the pillow top on the seats and he would like to redo the side panels to keep it's strength for years to come. He said the rest of the leather is in amazing condition not just for the age but for any original older car.

So that is the gist of it. Now, lets hope a lot of that is behind us and I can move forward. Seams like since we have moved to Indiana it has just been something all the time. Ready to feel good and get back to doing the things I love.
