Billet Grills: Two questions to this poll. 1. Horizontal or vertical bars? 2. How much are you willing to pay?

It would seem to me that alot of people around here have been hesitant about going with billet grills or trying something different because there's really no way to tell what it would look like and it could be throwing alot of money away. I know it should be fairly simple to photoshop a horizontal and vertical billet grill on a Mark 8-anyone up to the task? The mesh grill with the center beam should'nt be too hard one would think but who knows. is it a possible photoshop? I know some people on the board are really good at photoshop, so any takers? It would really be appreciated and really help entice and make people go in on them....

I made a custom grill with mesh inserts and I thought it was PIMP. Looked pretty cool and turned out better than I thought it was going to. I now have the stock grill because I was in a recent accident, which destroyed it to pieces( mother........) I was really pissed because of the time put into it. But maybe one day I'll get some time and make another.

Here are some shots of the grille.(Rainy and the pics didn't come out soo well with the flash.)

Some new pics when it returned from the shop.(The black Mark is mine.I sorta like the stock grill with the new hood.)

Kudos on the grill Stra Dog, it looks good and very professional, but I think it's just different, not better. I prefer the stock grill all blacked out on YOUR car from the pics you've posted. I think a grille with more vertical lines would be cool. I did shop one a while ago that shoudl be on this board somewhere (I think it was Moe's car). An all mesh grill like the S-Type R would look cool too. It does depend on the car though...

Thank you Kale, I agree with you 100%. I like the stock grill blacked out, makes it look more professional. I really like that Jaguar mesh. I may have to give them a call and maybe grab some.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, im thinking to maybe do that to mine and put the lincoln emblem on the lower center about an inch from the bottom.

thanks Kale--doesnt look too bad-a different look I guess; I agree with ya Paul the Lincoln emblem would do it up nice.

I'm likin' it. I wonder how much it would actually cost to make a mesh grill like that though.

RE: re custom grills and moc ups/photoshop

you know, this poll wasn't up long enough for any accurate numbers.. not everyone checks this site every day heh

RE: re custom grills and moc ups/photoshop

RE: re custom grills and moc ups/photoshop

Really when everything is said and done accuracy here really doesnt matter since not many-if only a hand full of people would go for a biller grill without seeing it before hand---so I as many others probably will, will be lurking in Nightsky's shadows waiting to catch a glimpse of his billet grill then go from there

RE: re custom grills and moc ups/photoshop

RE: re custom grills and moc ups/photoshop

How would one go about getting a billet grille made though? There can't be to many companies out there that can make one.

RE: re custom grills and moc ups/photoshop

RE: re custom grills and moc ups/photoshop

PHRANQUY.

Precisely the reason I will be doing this. Many have talked about wanting them. I have come across a custom shop that is willing and able so I will be spreading the luck. I'll of course be making some money on the side, but for all my work on this and other projects, I'm sure no one will complain.. :)

RE: re custom grills and moc ups/photoshop

Agreed---I once had a shop that was willing to do it, but I just wasn't sure what the end result would be. So I would be more than willing to shell out a little more to know what it would look like done---

So how long till you get these things? :) I hit an OWL on the interstate last week and I now have a huge hole in my grille and my trim is bent. Instead of spending $380 for a new grille I'd rather try one of these on.

Kale, great Photoshop job, I think that if there was molded overlay to kind of snap over our existing grill that's made of fine mesh that may work. Moe took black tape and blacked out every other chrome strip in the grill, it looks bad @ss. If we could black out the whole grill, and snap the mesh over it. ;) Hmmm. I think I may get a fabricatin'. As far as the logo goes, if I could snap it out, and move it down into the corner (like you guys mentioned above) that would be nice.

That is an awsome peice of handiwork.
Clean, crisp, fresh form.
Makes a subtle but strong statement.
