Is there anyone in the Phila, Pa area willing to do a blend door on my 98 LSC
significantly below dealer price.

drive it to me and i'll do it in an hour and a half. you'll still spend less driving here and driving back in gas plus parts and labor as you would at the dealer!!!!

hell I could probably drive from Texas and still come in less than a dealership would charge.. and probably have less incidental damage after the fact.

+1 for Jamie and his mechanical skills... and his little gang of OoopmaLoompas that work for him

Is this Blend door thing really that big of a deal?

Yes, especially because it always seems to go out at the most inappropriate times (the hottest or coldest times of the year) and it is a pain to get to. I've seen Mark do a bunch at my house. Luckily mine was still under warranty when it went out. Apparently the design is so bad, it's a very common problem and if you can't do it yourself, the dealer will charge a fortune in labor for it.

i should just buy a motor home and travel the states and do blend doors on my way!! Tommy if you came here i'd do the blend door and give you a christmas special price on a car full of spare parts whatever you could fit in your car lol!

Add detailing to that, and you've really got it made. :big-grin:

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Updating my original thread, I just completed R&R of my dreaded "blend door". It wasn't that bad at all. It took me just under 6 hrs over 2 days. I believe the next time I can do it in 3 hrs. i aprreciate the technical advice I received!

Good Job!

I'm looking forward to doing this on my CE in the spring.

I'll be taking my whole interior out at the same time to replace the carpet.:)
