New to turbos having just purchased a 2011 Subaru WRX, I was wondering how different blow off valves work. I figured I'd asked this knowledgeable bunch.
Are blow off and bypass valves the same ?
I have heard that the factory Blow off (bypass?) valve on my car vents to the intake, not the atmosphere which is why no "chirp" is heard when shifting, however, doesn't that defeat the purpose of the valve venting pressure out of the system to begin with ?
What else does the valve effect ?
