It's a Navigator front clip and an F150 from the windshield back. I was in poor shape when the fellow offered it to the authorities is exchange for going easy on him. Don't know what he was charged with but it must have been big.

It was a nasty green color before they fixed it up. It now has has a second life being used by the Longwood school resource officer and the DARE program. Sure grabs your attention rolling up on those 24's! The interior is nice too, with bright blue and black seats, a killer sound system and all the usual police equipment. I'd pull HIM over just to check it out!

Have you seen the Longwood Police Departments sporty new ride? If you have not, be on the look out for a 1997 Ford F150 with eye catching 24 inch chrome rims and a traffic stopping paint job. Don't worry; this vehicle was free, courtesy of the Florida Forfeiture Act. The truck was seized during a search warrant which was executed at the home of a local drug dealer.

The search warrant was a small part in a larger investigation which involved a wire tap, 10 other search warrants and 21 arrest warrants. Law enforcement officers seized the truck, thousands of dollars in cash, and several pounds of drugs. Under Florida law the truck was seized when it was determined that it was purchased with money made from the sale of drugs. The Longwood Police Department gladly accepted the vehicle and found an immediate home for it. The truck was outfitted with blue lights and a police stripe package. It has been assigned to Officer Robert Albritton, who will be assigned to Longwood Elementary as a D.A.R.E. Officer.

Officer Albritton has already been flooded with requests for photos of the truck. So far, it has been a great success with the citizens of Longwood. Officer Albritton debut the truck at the 2004 National Night Out event held at Candyland Park on August 3rd. The following weekend, Officer Albritton entered the truck in the Red and Blue Car Show at the Volusia County Fairgrounds. The truck won Best in Show and Most Unique Display in the Police Category. The truck is a welcome new addition to the Longwood Police Department fleet and will undoubtedly serve the students at Longwood Elementary and the citizens of Longwood very well.
