bolt spacing

I was talking to TCI about a converter and they said that the 4R70w/AOD-E carries 2 bolt patterns. I was told it was either 11.4 or 10.625 bolt space, has anybody run into this? I was wondering if marks only carried 1, and what was it?

RE: bolt spacing

I don't know the bolt spacing, however, I would not use a TCI unit. I've had TCI's in the past. They were marginal at best. The parts the use are not much different from stock quality. Not saying that stock quality is bad, but they don't hold up or really perform as well as custom built torque convertors. I replaced my TCI unit in my Hurst/Olds with a unit from Coan Engineering. All I can say is WOW what a difference! In the grand scheme of things, considering the work you have to do to replace these, you are far better off paying the extra 2-300 dollars on a better unit. You will feel and appreciate the diffence. Seriously, you will wish you paid the extra $$ in a year maybe another 1/2 when you are replacing it with a better unit. Usually, the one you should have gone with in the beginning. That's my .02.

RE: bolt spacing

Thanx for the reply. I was told by a local torque converter shop that all the marks came with the 10.625 pattern. I will keep up my search.
