Bought one size tire, got a different one!

Leo,

I have been dealing with this forever. No matter what shop I would take it to, they never seem to care.
They can't do alignments right and tire places broke at least 2 of my wheel locks and lost one. They don't balance the tires right either, and the little wheel weights disappear the next day 50% of the time. You just have to check and double check their work to make sure everything was done right.

Amen.

When I bought the drag radials for my '93 a couple years ago, I was working out of town, anxious to go racing the upcoming weekend and had the wife take the car and have them installed. I meticulously described to her how the tires were "directional" and to make certain they understood how to mount them, the right tire on the right side and left tire on the left side. "No problems", she later reported.

A couple days later I returned home to find they indeed had mounted the tires on the proper side of the vehicle, just like she said. Just two small issues. They used 'clip-on' balancing weights on the outside rim of my nice chrome LSC 10 spoke wheels! AND the wheels themselves were on backwards!!! xo

Would you believe the guy actually gave me a hard time, he asked how he was supposed to sell that tire now that I drove on it![/div]

Unbelievable!

I always stand over the guys shoulder when they're working on one of my vehicles.

One place tried to kick me out of the garage when i was trying to watch them do an alignment on my suburban. I refused, they stopped working and pulled the truck out of the garage.

If they're so shady they're afraid to let me watch, i'll take my money elsewhere.
