Brake Booster Seal

I'm having a heck of a time locating the gasket/seal which goes between the Master Cylinder and the Power Brake Booster on my 98 Mark. Napa and even the Dealer don't even show it in their drawings, but it's there.. It's nothing more that a circular flat rubber washer.

Anyone know where I can get one?

MAx will know and will give you a great price. It could be a dealer only part. In those cases, a Napa willjust tell you it does not exist. They will usually not know if it is dealer only.

rock auto and fast parts network did not have such a part. It might only come with a booster or master cylinder.

I might recommend trying Don Reid Ford in Orlando, they are notorious for sucking up parts around here when they find out they are not going to be made anymore.

If it is a simple non-pressure seal, then RTV liquid gasket will perform well.

I'm not sure why so many on the board have negative feelings toward it. I've used it on my Mark, where it actually worked BETTER than the OEM gasket, and I've used it on some old plumbing for our pool pumping system; it worked when nothing else would...not plumber's tape, not plumber's paste, not custom made rubber seals, not even the OEM stuff would work.

If people don't want to use it because they will feel too much of a redneck, then I understand. As a highly experienced engineer and auto mechanic, I don't care what people think...I use what works.

My dad, who has over 50 years as a top notch auto mechanic also uses liquid gasket. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT...IF YOU USE IT RIGHT. Yes it is messy, but if that bothers you, take up knitting.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll do some more digging into your suggestions. I may end up selling a Remanufactured Power Brake Booster sans the seal for cheap if anyone's interested.
